Polar Biome Unlike the other exhibition halls that are filled with living things, the NIE’s Polar Biome contains a collection of various stuffed animal specimens, graphics, videos, and panels. The visitors can move along the marked path and experience the different ecosystems in the changing polar climates along the latitudes. Starting with Gaema Heights, the coldest region in the Korean peninsula, visitors will see diverse polar ecosystems such as the Taiga, the Tundra, the ice and snow in the North Pole, and a penguin colony in the South Pole. In the South Pole penguin village, which is kept at an average temperature of 3℃, there are 6 gentoo and 4 chin-strap penguins.
