International environmental agreements with international organizations

  • International environmental agreements are bilateral/multilateral international agreements that are agreed to protect the environment by preventing or managing the human influence on the natural resources, mainly defining duties and efforts that are to be done by each nation to preserve the environment on the global level.
    Currently, there are about 170 international environmental agreements, and agreements signed by the Republic of Korea include the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance Especially as Waterfowl Habitat, Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), and more.
