8 서론 백두대간은 한반도의 다양한 생물서식지이며 동물의 이동 통로로 새로운 서식지로의 이주와 재서식 을 하는데 매우 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 백두대간은 생물다양성이 높아 보전가치가 매우 높기에 환 경부는 생물다양성 협약 이행을 위한 생물다양성조사 및 대책을 수립하고 있는 가운데 생물다양성 보전계획 및 종 다양성을 확보하려고 하고 있다. 특히 국립생태원에서는 백두대간 보호지역의 생태 계 보전관리를 위한 백두대간보호지역 생태계조사를 통해 자연생태계 정보를 파악하여 지속적으로 DB를 구축하고 있다. 이처럼 백두대간은 다양한 동식물의 서식처로 상호간 연결된 생태계축을 형성하고 있어 자연환경 및 자원 보존이라는 생태적 가치를 갖고 있다. 백두대간처럼 고도가 높은 서식지는 주거지역, 경작지 그리고 산과 같은 이질적...
